Turn a silhouette into a shape activity
Use this Christmas tree printable when children need a clear outline to decorate without copying a complicated drawing. The free sheet contains one large tree silhouette with a trunk and stepped branches. Learners can trace its edge, compare the wider bottom with the narrower top, or fill the inside with scraps of coloured paper. The outline leaves enough space for individual choices instead of prescribing a finished colour scheme.
Check the printed measurement
The tree measures six inches from its top point to the bottom of its trunk when the Letter PDF is printed at one hundred percent. A one-inch calibration square appears beneath the artwork. Measure that square first if the cutout must fit a card or classroom display. Printer settings such as fit or shrink can change the size. The measurement describes the printed outline, not a suggested size for a real tree.
Prepare the cutting table
Print on ordinary paper for tracing or on card suitable for your printer for a firmer template. Cut the outer edge with adult help where needed, then trace around it on another sheet. Add circles or rectangles as decorations and ask learners which features have straight sides or curved edges. Keep a spare uncut sheet as a reference when comparing the completed collages.
Extend the lesson beyond the holiday
The free download is a single seasonal outline, without editable parts or a completed lesson sequence. The site's existing Shapes Worksheets pack adds tracing, sides and corners, two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes, everyday shape examples and flash cards in the listed formats. Those activities develop the shape vocabulary introduced by the craft. They are general shape resources, rather than additional Christmas tree designs, and can be used after the seasonal display comes down.
